Negative symptoms are pathological deficits that include poverty of speech, blunted effects, and flat affect, loss of violation, and social withdrawal. The poverty of speech is termed as alogia in which speech is reduced. Blunted affects mean feeling less anger, sadness, joy, and other feelings that most people do. Flat affects mean when an individual does not show any kind of emotions. People with schizophrenia may withdraw socially and become focused on their ideas and fantasies.

Psychomotor symptoms: Schizophrenics move less or make odd gestures and involves catatonic stupor that is people remain motionless, and silent for long periods, and other kinds of catatonia that include catatonic rigidity that is maintaining a rigid posture for hours, or catatonic posturing that means assuming bizarre positions for long periods.

Risk factors of schizophrenia:
In the disorder of schizophrenia, the main cause that involves risk factors is not known but many factors play an important role that involves family cause, pregnancy, and other birth complications, and many drug uses.

Schizophrenia is more related to a family history that means when other family members have schizophrenia the patient is more likely to get affected. For instance, when an individual’s mother has schizophrenia, the chances are more than the individual will also get affected.

The disorder of schizophrenia is more likely to occur during pregnancy times and births complications that involve malnutrition or other exposure to toxins or viruses that may impact brain development and schizophrenia will occur.

An individual after taking more of the drugs that include psychoactive or psychotropic drugs during teenage, or in adulthood that chances are more that the person will get schizophrenia.
