Current rules are related to the following:
Client-Lawyer Relationship: A lawyer must represent a client competently. Competent representation necessitates the proper legal knowledge, expertise, thoroughness, and preparation required for the model. A lawyer should not take on a case unless they are confident that they are competent to handle it or become competent without undue delay, risk, or expense. A lawyer may disclose information about a client’s representation to the extent that the lawyer reasonably feels it is necessary.
Counselor: A lawyer must use independent professional judgment and give candid counsel when representing a client. Other concerns relevant to a client’s situation may be considered by a lawyer while giving advice.
Advocate: If there is a reasonable basis in law and fact for protecting or maintaining, or discussing an issue in a procedure, only a lawyer may initiate. A lawyer must prove every aspect of the case by again defending the point wherein criminal trial a lawyer for the defendant or in a proceeding for the respondent could result in imprisonment.
Transactions With Persons Other Than Clients: A lawyer must not willfully make a false statement of vital truth or law to a third party while representing a client.
Public Service: Every lawyer owes a duty to the public to give legal services to people who cannot afford them. Legal services without any compensation should be provided by a lawyer to the public every year.
Information About Legal Services: A lawyer must not make any false or misleading statements about himself/herself or his/her services. A message is false or misleading if it involves the facts or laws that are mostly untruth or omits necessary facts to make the statement not much ambiguous as a whole.
Maintaining the Integrity of the Profession: A lawyer has to maintain the integrity of a judge and legal officers even if the lawyer knows any truth or untruth about the qualification of those.
For the quality of justice as a legal professional, a lawyer advocates the client, as an officer of a legal system, and as a public citizen performs a particular duty. A lawyer serves as a client’s representative and performs a variety of tasks. A lawyer’s role as an advisor is to offer a client a thorough grasp of their legal rights and obligations, as well as the practical ramifications of those rights and responsibilities. Under the norms of the adversarial system, a lawyer as an advocate defends the position of the client. As a negotiator, a lawyer seeks a favorable outcome for the client while adhering to ethical standards in dealings with others. A lawyer’s role as an evaluator is to examine a client’s legal matters and report them to the client or others. A lawyer can act as a third-party neutral, assisting the parties in resolving a dispute or other issue without representing them. A lawyer should be capable, fast, and hardworking in all professional functions. The conduct of a lawyer should be according to the standards of the law, both in professional service to clients and in commercial and personal activities. A lawyer should only use the legal system for genuine reasons, not to harass or threaten others. A lawyer should respect the legal system and those who work within it, such as judges, other lawyers, and government officials.
